Take up and listen

My posting frequency has been rather low lately, but there are some book reviews and others posts in the works. In this post, I’m just sharing three podcast recommendations.

OnScript

I’ve been listening to OnScript for years, now. Intelligent hosts interview scholars, who discuss their publications and work in the fields of biblical studies and theology. Lately, I’ve enjoyed interviews with Mark Scarlata on Leviticus and Matthew Thiessen on Jesus and purity laws.

Backlisted

I stumbled upon Backlisted by accident when trying to find something on M. F. K. Fisher. Backlisted is a literary podcast. The witty hosts invite guests to discuss old and old-ish books. The episode on The Railway Children is a great place to begin. Several episodes, that on included, inspired me to read books and authors discussed.

Greeking Out

We listen to Greeking Out as a family whenever we have to drive somewhere. Produced by National Geographic Kids, it provides hours of mythological education and entertainment. Bonus episodes also introduce listeners to non-Greek mythologies. We’re almost done with the latest season, and my kids are hoping for more future episodes.

That’s it. There are many, many podcasts out there. Here are three I’ve enjoyed.
