We praise you, our excellent Lord, with joy in our hearts.

We join the heavenly heights in issuing your praise. 

You are the God who must be praised. 

The sun, moon, and shining stars are even commanded to praise you. 

How can we not recognize, confirm, and affirm the excellence of your name?

We ask that you would receive our worship as you do the worship of your angelic host—that we would proclaim your glory as faithfully as the sun, moon, and stars. 

We ask that we would proclaim your glory as your creation upon the earth, sea creatures, beasts, and birds.

Not just living creatures, but also mountains, hills, fruit trees and cedar, even the elements of nature: fire, hail, snow, and mist, stormy winds controlled by your word, accomplishing your purposes.

Our desire this day is to join all creation, the creation you established by your decree, which we are a part of—we join in praising you, our Lord. 

How can we not?

Everyone should praise your excellent name exalted above all others in position and power. 

“Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth”

“Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children”

You are over all, because you have made all. 

So everyone should praise you for your excellence and glory, power, splendour, and majesty. 

We humbly ask that you would graciously give us the strength and the courage to live our lives in praise for you, in gratitude not only for creation, but redemption in your Son.
